Hi Everybody… and Goodmorning / -afternoon / – night

24-H

One of my favorites…. they seem so sweet and gentle but beware, they are not!!!
So if you ever come across one in the wild…. never, never ever get in between it and water!
They have no natural enemy’s … so they always feel safe, no matter wich other animals surround them…
The only real threat they have is their sleep…. if their internal clock fails to work right they die in their sleep because the internal organs press together the longs through wich they will sufficate.

In my hometown zoo we have 6 ladies who have lots and lots of space… so the public can watch them whilst they are outside and also inside when they are under the waters. Beeing under water watching them is very beautiful… because then you can see how agile they realy are and how fast too.

Have a splendid, ♥-warming ABC-wednes-day / – week!

This week at ABC Wednesday, H is our letter of focus.

H is for Hook

There are several meanings for Hook:

-a bent or curved piece of metal used to catch or pull in fish

-a bent metal used for crochet

-the course of a ball that deviates from straight

-a short blow by a boxer, with a circular motion

-a device used by a writer to draw in readers

There are several phrases we use with hook:

-by hook or by crook (by any means)

-off the hook (out of trouble

I created a fishing hook to accompany this quote by Ovid:

hook 001

For the letter H, I’ve discovered two songs that have some similarities.

HELP Me, Rhonda by the Beach Boys went to #1 in the US in 1965.

HELP by some obscure Liverpudlian band went to #1 in the US in 1965.

Both recordings were on Capitol Records in the US.

HELP Me, Rhonda originally was HELP Me, Ronda, composed by Brian Wilson with by Mike Love for the album The Beach Boys Today! in March 1965.

A second recording, with a significantly different, and to my mind superior arrangement, was issued as a single and subsequently released on the album Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!) in June 1965.

It’s the single version that reached #1 in Canada, #2 in Singapore, #3 in The Philippines, #5 in Hong Kong and Sweden, #9 in Ireland, #10 in Germany and Australia, but only #27 in the United Kingdom.

HELP is the title track of that Liverpool band’s second film, and the accompanying album, which, naturally, is different in the US and the UK. The album was released in August 1965, and the single a month earlier. The song was written primarily by John Lennon, but credited to Lennon–McCartney.

So just HELP yourself – isn’t that a Tom Jones reference? – to that little blue button and participate in this week’s meme

Round 21 – H

Hi Everybody, a very good- morning / -afternoon / -evening!

Today I want to introduce a Dutch singer which was born on may 19, 1977 an his name is Wouter Hamel. He has, in my humble opinion, a wonderful voice and he knows how to handle music, Jazz in particular but Pop is not strange to him either. He showed up some 15 years ago and I liked him from day 1. He performs in Dutch but also in English. It took some time before I made my choice because he has so much beautiful and different music. Eventually I choose something that is a little Jazzy and I hope you like it!

Have a splendid, ♥-warming ABC-day / – week!
